九眼桥是成都东南最重要,亦是近代成都市区内保存最古老、规模最宏大的桥梁,长期有成都“东南形胜”之誉。九眼桥附近的锦江河段自唐宋以来成都最主要的水路辐辏之地。自唐朝形成郫江(旧府河)与流江(南河)“两江抱城”格局后,两江水势丰满,河宽水深,皆能行舟。这里最早的桥建于何时已经无从考证了,明万历二十一年(公元1 593年),四川布政使余一龙在这里主持修建了一座宏伟的石拱桥。因地处两河交汇之下,
Jiuyanqiao is the most important in southeastern Chengdu. It is also the oldest preserved and largest scale bridge in Chengdu in modern times. It has long been known as Chengdu “southeast wins”.
