Clinical observations and animal experiments show that in patients with facial paralysis, the facial area associated with facial muscles has a reduced area and adjacent areas such as the enlarged forearm cortex. Several studies have demonstrated that transcranial electromagnetic stimulation provides a noninvasive method of studying the motor cortex. In this paper, 17 healthy individuals were studied, and the cortical representation area of the thumb extensor was electromagnetically stimulated along the surface of the skull along the ear line.
