17世纪英国数学家瓦里斯提出一个问题:周长一定的所有矩形中,正方形的面积最大,证明这个问题有多种方法,这里我们采用二次函数的最大值的方法来解。
The seventeenth-century British mathematician Varis raises the question: Of all the rectangles of a certain circumference, the area of the square is the largest, proving that there are many ways to solve this problem. Here we use the maximum of the quadratic function.
