学练太极拳要讲究方法,拳谚说:“方法不对,功夫白费。”在实际锻炼的过程中,应先练筋骨之形,再调脏腑之气,再养心脑之神。这样,逐步调整修炼的目标,只有把前面的知识掌握以后,再学新的内容,才能使太极拳的理论得到消化吸收。习练者拳式动作的规范程度,不可能一步到位,只有精雕细琢分出层次,才能逐渐提高拳式动作的技击功能,才能逐渐改善习练者的健康水平。
