[Objective] To investigate whether the smoke emitted during the CO2 laser treatment of condyloma acuminata has the existence of human papillomavirus (HPV DNA) and the pathogenicity of these viruses. [Method] Totally 96 samples of 32 patients with condyloma acuminatum were collected, at a distance of 1cm, 3cm and 5cm from the cauterization site. The HPV DNA in soot samples were detected by PCR and the positive rate was observed. Rub the vulva and vulva mucosa of 30 rats and make the pathological sections and PCR test on the lesion. [Results] There was HPV DNA in the CO2 laser treatment of genital warts, which was confirmed by the rat infection test and had certain pathogenicity. [Conclusion] The presence of HPV DNA in smoke and dust treated with CO2 laser has certain pathogenicity in HPV DNA in smoke and dust; the safety of smoke exhaust device below 1cm from burning site is safe.
