建国以来,特别是自国务院批准开远县改市以来,我市在加强城市的建设和管理方面进行了大胆的探索和实践,开始走出一条适合开远市情的路子,城市的市容市貌发生了很大变化。城区面积由解放初期的1平方公里发展为现在的8平方公里,城区人口由0.9万人发展为10余万人,建成了113万平方米的住宅和一批城市基础设施的骨干工程,改善了投资环境和生活环境,一座新兴的工业城市和商品物资集散中心正在滇南崛起。实践使我们体会到,只有充分动员和依靠全社会的力量,才能加快城市建设,搞好城市管理。
