公共基础课是高职院校各专业人才培养课程的重要组成部分,具有鲜明的基础性和工具性,是实现高职院校人才培养目标的重要抓手。然而,在一些高职院校,公共基础课的课程开发力度不足,公共基础课教师缺少发展支持系统,课程内容和教学方式难以满足学生多样化需求,学生对公共基础课的价值认识不够充分,这些因素成为制约高职教育发展的软肋。公共基础课改革需要革新理念,做好顶层设计,深化课程与教学改革,重视师资队伍建设等。
