抽运源亮度是限制半导体激光直接抽运的光纤激光器功率提升的主要因素之一。在级联抽运方案中,将高亮度的光纤激光作为抽运源,可有效缓解半导体激光直接抽运方案中抽运光亮度不足对输出功率的限制。国内外众多研究机构对级联抽运方案中采用的短波长掺镱光纤激光(如1018nm激光)进行了深入研究,目前公开报道的单路1018nm激光器的输出功率已接近千瓦级。将多路1018nm光纤激光器进行功率合束再对掺镱光纤进行抽运,是实现万瓦级高功率输出的有效途径。
Pumping source brightness is one of the main factors that limit the power increase of a fiber laser directly pumped by a semiconductor laser. In the cascaded pumping scheme, using a high-brightness fiber laser as a pumping source can effectively reduce the limitation of the output power due to insufficient pumping light intensity in the direct laser pumping scheme of the semiconductor. Many research institutes at home and abroad have conducted deep research on the short-wavelength ytterbium-doped fiber laser (such as 1018nm laser) used in the cascade pumping scheme. The output power of the single-channel 1018nm laser that is publicly reported now is close to the kilowatt level. Multi-channel 1018nm fiber laser for power combination and then Ytterbium-doped fiber for pumping, is to achieve 10,000 watts of high power output an effective way.
