电火花强化技术国外早已应用。我国到70年代才应用于实际,我厂于1985年应用此技术于刀具表面的强化处理上。电火花强化技术是利用 RC 电路充放电原理,采用硬质合金、石墨、合金钢、高速钢、铜或铝等导电材料作为工具电极,在空气中使之与被强化的金属工件之间产生火花放电,直接利用火花放电的能量,使电极材料转移到工件表面,构成强化层,从而改善工件表面的物理化学性能,提高表面硬度、耐磨性。强化后的金属表面硬度可达到HRC70左右,因而可延长刀具、模具的使用寿命。该技术在修复刀、量、模具及设备备件中有很大的推广价值。
