Baudelaire (1821-1867) is the representative of French 19th century symbolism poetry, known as the originator of modernism. In his poetry, the shadow of the pursuit of modern poetic can be seen everywhere. The most prominent feature of this is that his poetry turned his eyes to the city and sought new values of poetry in the collision of civilizations. His modern poesy mainly includes the expansion of the theme of realistic writing, the excavation of the modernity of poetry and the function of poets in poetry. This article attempts to start from Baudelaier’s poetic style about Paris in the field of the city, discover the poet’s modern poetic conception given to the real material world, and find out the unknown under the urban image swallowed by modernity.
