Prior to the present paper, there have been many reports discussing the dynamic computation of liquid-storage container with hydroelastic assumption. However, most of them only concern their free vibration character, and the walls of the containers are assumed to be absolutely stiff. In 1979, the authers contributed a paper on the earthquake-resistant analysis of liquid-storage revolution shells based on response spectrum theory. In this paper, the time-dependent earthquake response of hydroelastic structure under arbitrary ground motion is calculated in terms of the frequencies and modes which have been obtained in the above-mentioned paper.
