The famous British writer Virginia Woolf’s novel “Mrs. Dalloway” describes the psychological and emotional history of the main characters Clarissa and Septimus. Both have a crisis of identity, and they all share the same sense of fear and loneliness. Two people’s self-identity and social identity is difficult to coordinate the balanced development. At the same time as the problems of self-esteem and inner sense of depth appeared, they had a crisis with their relationship with others and the meaning, values and status formed in the relationship between the two and the other. They can not fundamentally accept the major values, cultures and beliefs of the time in society. The novel’s sentence, “Hugging from Death,” just hinted at the identity crisis of the two.
