梅山镇是南安市北部一个面积不到60平方公里的小镇,常住人口近10万,既不临海,也没有丰富的自然资源。这个小镇孕育了著名爱国华侨、“星马一代完人”李光前和“共和国一等功臣”李引桐,成为闽南著名的侨乡。在海内外侨亲的大力支持下,梅山科教文卫等各项配套设施日臻完善,先后获福建省创先争优先进基层党组织、省生态乡镇、省科普示范镇称号,连续十届被评为省级文明乡镇,被确定为福建省宣传思想文化示范乡镇。在华侨精神的激励下,梅山,正默默地绽放着风采。
Meishan Town is a small town in the northern part of Nan’an with an area of less than 60 square kilometers with a resident population of nearly 100,000. It neither sea nor rich natural resources. The town gave birth to the famous patriotic overseas Chinese, “Star Man generation complete ” Lee Kwang-before and “Republic first-class hero ” Li cited Tong, a famous overseas Chinese. Under the strong support of overseas Chinese and relatives at home and abroad, Meishan Science and Education and Culture, Health and Welfare Services and other supporting facilities have been perfected. They have successively won the honorary title of “Grassroots Party Organization, Provincial Ecology Township and Provincial Science Popularization Demonstration Town” in Fujian Province.
