INSIDE the heavily guarded SSGAC (State Sports General Administration of China) gymnasium the China National Women’s Gymnastic Team members train rigorously in preparation for the 2004 Olympics. Gao Jian, director of SSGAC Gymnastic Management Center, expects the Chinese women’s team to win gold medals for the uneven bars and balance beam, and third place overall. He states, “Our goal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics is the women’s team championship.”
