Star anise is one of Guangxi’s major specialty products and has become the major source of income for farmers in mountainous areas. Over the years, due to the one-sided pursuit of output, large amounts of chemical fertilizers have elicited the widespread occurrence of pests and diseases. Coupled with the prevention and control measures are not strong, the plant density is too large, neglect pruning, poor ventilation within the forest, soil compaction, poor physical and chemical properties and other factors, resulting in a considerable part of the 20-year-old octagonal tree was premature. According to preliminary statistics, the area of premature decline of the Aniseed forests in Guangxi, such as Debon, Napa, Shanglin, Fengshan and Jinxiu counties accounted for 0.5 / 10 of the put-into-production area. Some of the high-yielding forests that originally produced 7500 kg per hectare Has been reduced to about 1500 kg per hectare, therefore, the investigation and analysis of the causes of premature decline of the forest star anise tree, take measures should be rebuilt and rejuvenation is a top priority.
