敖包山森林公园位于孟滦林管局新丰林场,地处围场、隆化和内蒙古三地交界,是塞外旅游名城承德的母亲河——武烈河的发源地。这里森林覆被率高达92.7%,青山绿水,鸟语花香,天然物种丰富,野生花卉漫山遍野。园内主峰敖包山,海拔1853米,山体高大。山下是茂密的森林,山顶是大面积高山草甸,自然环境优美,满蒙风情浓郁。敖包山森林公园总面积6000公顷,有引人入胜的植被景观和自然景观及人文景观。与避暑山庄、塞罕坝森林公园形成一条旅游环线。
