When I was returned to Israel in 1992, the 13-year-old boss, the 12-year-old second child and the 10-year-old daughter both temporarily stayed in China. Choosing to return to Israel at that time was totally the end of the road: my father was a Jew, who fled to Shanghai during World War II and gave birth to me there.
