Vera Cather is a famous American woman writer from the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. “Ah, Pioneers!” Is the first one in which Cather describes the novels of the western frontier of the United States. Since its publication, the critics have always praised it. Some critics praise the pioneering spirit embodied in the works, while others focus on the cultural and ethnic integration issues reflected in the works. In addition it is more feminist commentator advocate material. In recent years, along with the rise of ecofeminist criticism and westward movement research, the relationship between women and nature reflected in the novels has also begun to receive attention. The heroine in the novel is considered to be ecologically conscious and integrated with nature. However, the factual accomplishment of the ecological consciousness of the heroine has undergone a rather long process of development rather than the beginning. Therefore, this essay reinterprets Cather’s “Ah, Pioneers!” From the perspective of ecological feminism and compares Alexandra’s relationship with nature, men and women. Forming female awareness has a huge impact.
