1982年7月11日,在河南郑州商代城墙东南角外侧约45米的郑州市向阳回族食品厂新厂房基建中,一名青年工人在挖地基时,距地表约4.6米深时,铁锨碰到一件硬器,听到金属发出的清脆悦耳声音,意外发现一个长1.7米、宽1.62米、深0.9米而底部稍平的坑,坑内出土青铜器13件。其中7件由建筑工人先发现并取出,省文物研究所和市博物馆接报后,派人火速赶往现场,进行实地勘察和全面发掘,在坑底部又发现6件青铜器,其中一件为饕餮乳钉纹青铜方鼎,口东足西横置在坑底的北半部。
On July 11, 1982, in a new factory building of Zhengzhou Xiangyang Hui Food Factory about 45 meters outside the southeast corner of Shangcheng Zhengzhou, Henan Province, a young worker digging the foundation at about 4.6 meters deep from the surface, Iron hitting a hard, heard the crisp and clear sound of metal, accidentally found a 1.7 meters long, 1.62 meters wide, 0.9 meters deep and slightly flat bottom pit, pit unearthed bronze 13. Seven of them were first discovered and removed by construction workers. After receiving reports from the Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Municipal Museum, they sent people rushed to the site for field investigation and comprehensive excavation. Six pieces of bronze were also found at the bottom of the pit, one of which was gluttonous Milk nail-style bronze square tripod, mouth east foot west of the pit lying in the northern half.
