(一) 记得几年以前参加了一次教材审定会议。会上接触到的一份物理教材稿和会下接触到的一份物理“史话”稿都津津有味而又煞有介事地谈到晋人张华对于机械共振的认识。我当时很不同意那种谈法,但是所提的意见却没有得到任何人的理睬。因此,在1980年写的一篇短文中,我又把自己的看法附带申说了一下。其实呢,我对中国古代科技史也只是偶尔涉猎,自己的见解也不过是从个人的一点科学常识出发罢了。
(A) I remember a few years ago participated in a textbook validation meeting. A physics textbook manuscript touched upon at the meeting and a physical “historical” manuscript touched upon in the meeting both talked about Jin Zhang’s understanding of mechanical resonance in a sensational and dramatic way. At that time, I disagreed very much with that approach, but my opinion was not given any advice. Therefore, in an essay I wrote in 1980, I added a few words to my opinion. In fact, I only occasionally dabbled in the history of science and technology in ancient China. My own opinion is nothing more than a personal scientific common sense.
