The dual-fuel engine with natural gas as the main fuel and a small amount of diesel as the pilot oil is the research object. The combustion model is established, which includes the thermodynamics, the chemical reaction kinetics, the multi-zone heat transfer and combustion model. The model is used to estimate the combustion process of a dual fuel engine. The effects of operating and structural parameters on the performance and emissions of a dual fuel engine are analyzed
