The study of economic history, cultural history and literary history has not paid enough attention to the businessmen and their role, and the study of the history of literature has yet to be expanded in its field of vision and space. Through the study of merchants with text and letters in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, we can enter into the spiritual world of some businessmen in economic history. They are no longer abstract “businessmen.” Traders have made important contributions to the development of cultural history, such as opera, garden architecture, and collections of cultural relics, all of which extend to literary creation. Merchants in the Ming and Qing Dynasties not only involved in literary creation, but also changed the literary ecology to a certain extent. Studying the relationship between businessmen and economic history, cultural history and literary history can enrich the study of economic history and cultural history, and help deepen the understanding of literary history.
