本文研究了用偏振器作基板的液晶显示板(LCD),对使用双轴压延聚酯膜和单轴压延聚酯膜的TN LCD的光学特性进行了评价。结果,后者选作偏振器的支撑膜。因单轴压延聚酯膜和液晶分子呈光学各向异性,双折射会引起干涉色。又因聚酯膜是热各向异性,热处理后LCD板会起翘。文中就偏振器配置对LCD的热性能和光学性能的影响进行了讨论,确定了最合理的结构。所开发的塑料LCD的厚度为0.5mm,比普通使用玻璃基板的LCD有较好的光学性能。
In this paper, a liquid crystal display panel (LCD) using a polarizer as a substrate has been studied, and optical properties of a TN LCD using a biaxially-stretched polyester film and a uniaxially-calendered polyester film have been evaluated. As a result, the latter is selected as a support film for the polarizer. Due to uniaxially-calendered polyester film and liquid crystal molecules are optically anisotropic, birefringence will cause interference color. Because of polyester film is thermal anisotropy, LCD panels will be warped after heat treatment. In this paper, the influence of polarizer configuration on the thermal and optical properties of LCD is discussed, and the most reasonable structure is determined. The developed plastic LCD has a thickness of 0.5mm, which has better optical performance than LCDs that commonly use glass substrates.
