要想方设法丰富自己的人物每当我接到一个剧本,总喜欢先体会一下剧作者是在怎样的去写人物,要叫人物表现什么的。有的剧本把我吸引,使我受到感动;但也有的是从理论或概念出发,故事、题材还新鲜,只是人物写的干巴巴,只有骨头没有血肉。在接受这样剧本的角色时,我就运用自己的想象和情绪记忆,去丰富它,体会出她的性格与情感发展的过程,使之成为丰满的人物。比如1949年我排评剧《祥林嫂》,我对这个剧本很喜欢,就觉得太空,只是哭哭啼啼的,内容不丰满。由于我当时只有二十来岁,祥林嫂这样人物的经历,距离自己又太远,不能理解她的性格、情感。于是我先反复
