One encouraging figure A recent statistics from the Federal Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States is encouraging: For the first time in 10 years, the number of young people who have had sexual experience is less than half. U.S. Secretary of Health Schreilaf said happily: “This is indeed good news for us who are concerned about the lives of young people.” According to statistics, the percentage of teenagers in the United States decreased by 11% between 1991 and 1997. 48.4% of students in Grades 9 to 12 were active in 1997, up from 54.1% in 1991; those with sexual experience dropped from 57.4 in 1991 to 48.8% in 1991, and from 50.8% in female students to 47.7%. The proportion of high school students who participated in sexual activities using condoms hit the highest record in the 1990s in 1997. As a virgin youth no longer loneliness, restraint in the 1990s trends and the 70s and 80s opening in sharp contrast.
