2003年,中国的宽带市场取得了快速的增长,成为我国电信产业的亮点。但是在市场高速发展的背后却存在着增量不增收的隐忧,降价竞争成为启动市场的主要手段。宽带接入运营商投资巨大,但单凭接入费却无法收回投资,宽带应用的缺乏使得安装了宽带接入的用户只能浏览窄带互联网的内容。这些问题如果不能得到有效的解决,必将制约我国宽带产业的进一步发展。国外宽带产业的发展实践已经证明,在宽带市场的发展中,由注重技术的早期用户市场向注重价值的主流用户市场转变之时很容易遭遇断层危机,例如美国等国的宽带市场,接入价格高、速度慢、应用少,用户发展速度缓慢。而韩国的宽带产业已经跨越了断层,成功进入了主流市场。中国宽带产业发展应借鉴其中的经验。
