This article starts with the relationship between oral narrative and narrative writing, examines several important stages in the development history of Chinese ancient novels, and tries to find some regularities in ancient novels about the accumulation of stories and the change of style. This article argues that oral communication and writing are two different ways of communication, and there is a mutual transformation between the two, and may be more than once. Each conversion, will have an impact on the story content and style of the novel. In general, oral communication is the main cause of vernacular, but writing is accompanied by the classical Chinese. However, with the development of vernacular written language, this law was broken up during the Song and Yuan Dynasties, proclaiming the birth of vernacular novels.
