The Ministry of Metallurgical Industry Construction Research Institute cooperated with a smelter. In the second half of last year, it carried out industrial trials using copper and zinc high-temperature electrolytic cell linings with coal-tar plastic and soft polychlorine:ethylene plastic. This experiment was carried out two years ago on the basis of the successful use of plastic linings in room temperature copper electrolyzers. The experimental electrolyzers were used for high temperature electrolysis at temperatures ranging from 56 to 63 °C.
