Nissan Motor Corp. said advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) accounts for 25% of the total body weight of the new cars it produces. Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. will use advanced high-strength steel to reduce body weight from 2017 onwards. Nissan Motor Corp. has developed a very ductile, ultra-high-strength steel with a strength of up to 1.2 GPa and applied it to the new Infiniti Q50, which will be marketed in North America in 2013.
