A Recursive Inversion of Seismic Data in the Presence of Outstanding Discontinuities S. Raz, Technion Israel Institute of Technology (S17.1) In this article, we propose a method based on the WKBJ (Bremmer) The one-dimensional recurrence inversion algorithm of the sequence also proposed an effective solution in addition to identifying the discontinuity of the main section. The basic WKBJ inversion method is imperfect in some aspects. First, while the main reflective front reflector can often be reproduced within the allowable accuracy, errors can occur in the inversion of significant discontinuities deeper. Second, the obvious disadvantage of this solution is the total neglect of multiple reflections. Finally, due to the approximate nature of WKBJ, an impermissible local error will result if the reflection coefficient exceeds approximately 0.5.
