铁军是指北伐战争中的国民革命军第四军。第四军组成于1925年秋,其前身是粤军第一师,是1920年11月,孙中山到广州再次组织护法军政府后组建的。当时,以陈炯明为总司令的粤军已扩充达四五万人,但成分复杂,内部不和,孙中山派粤军总参谋长邓铿选素质优良的军官组建第一师,并由邓兼师长。邓铿励精图治,用进步的军事技术、政治常识,教育和训练士兵,使第一师很快成为比较有政治觉悟和训练有素的部队。
The Iron Army refers to the Fourth Army of the National Revolutionary Army in the Northern Expedition.
