Liquid holdup and multiphase flow in pipelines are important for the calculation and design of pressure drop across surface equipment. To predict the holding rate, you must first determine the flow regime. Two sets of artificial intelligence network models (ANNs) were developed to determine the flow regime and the liquid holdup of a horizontal multiphase flow.
