This article intends to give a comprehensive account of Professor Winsley’s contribution to the development of anthropology while discussing the characteristics of anthropological research, namely solid field studies, local and global perspectives, and placing anthropological research in the local history and in the process of global capitalism In the context of history. Professor Evans has been working in fields in Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Haiti and has made a significant contribution to Caribbean research. Professor Wensley emphasizes that anthropology should pay attention to history and promote oral historical research in the field. After the publication of “Sweet and Power” in 1985, Professor Wensley has published many monographs on diet anthropology with outstanding achievements and become the recognized authority scholars in this field.
