1994年6月16日下午,珠海市前山镇裕新织染厂3号厂房大楼发生火灾。公安消防战士和包括工厂员工在内的广大干部群众奋不顾身,千方百计扑灭大火,清除暗火,连续奋战20多个小时。17日下午2时10分,厂房突然倒塌,一批救火员工和消防战士,被埋在钢筋水泥废墟下。虽经多方抢救,但仍有70多人死亡,100多人受伤。 裕新织染厂3号厂房是一幢六层建筑,钢筋混凝土结构,建筑面积有5000平方米,跨度较大。凡是跨度较大的建筑,在遇到火灾高温之后,都容易坍塌。国内国外,这类火灾是有许多实例的。我国各大城市中,几乎都发生过这类火灾案
