Seismic geology and historical seismic activity all indicate that the Weihe Basin is a strong earthquake activity zone with a strong new tectonic movement. However, no earthquakes of magnitude 5 (1/2) or above occurred in this area since the 6 (3/4) earthquake near Xi’an on May 15, 1568, and the present level of fine earthquakes is also very low. The earthquakes in the quake have an average of only one or two earthquakes, and the magnitudes M_s are less than two. This is similar to the area near the Great Kanto Earthquake in Japan in 1923, representing a type of seismic activity area. Based on the limited data of historical strong earthquakes and current weak earthquakes, this paper makes a preliminary analysis on the characteristics of the seismic activity in this area.
