In this paper, the changes of electroencephalogram (EEG) in 45 pediatric patients with phenylketonuria (PKU) were analyzed. The abnormal rate of EEG was 44.4% for the first time. The main manifestations were intermittent or non-paroxysmal spikes, sharp wave and slow activity, A few people show patterns of peak rhythm disorders. When comparing the changes of EEG with those of children with PKU, the EEG abnormalities were found to be the highest in 7 months to 2 years of age, while the gender differences were not obvious. When the clinical symptoms were convulsions, EEG Abnormal rate was significantly higher. The paper also analyzed 7 cases of neonatal PKU screening positive cases, when the low phenylalanine diet, the blood phenylalanine concentration decreased, EEG improved, the clinical situation is good, therefore, in the treatment of EEG can be used as a Useful monitoring indicators.
