本文从市场分割、有效需求和企业创新三个因素的内在逻辑关系入手,探讨中国转型背景下地方政府行为是如何造成中国本土企业自主创新动力和能力的缺失及其内在机理。运用大样本的微观企业数据,从实证角度验证了中国省份地区间的市场分割行为是抑制中国本土企业的创新研发活动的重要因素。研究结果充分表明,中国地区间的市场分割行为限制了中国本土企业通过本土市场的需求空间来实现“需求所引致创新”功能的发挥,这为深入理解中国地区间市场分割行为的危害性以及中国本土企业自主创新动力缺失的成因,提供了不同于以往研究结论但又具有重要政策含义的理论和经验证据。
This article starts from the inherent logical relationship between market segmentation, effective demand and enterprise innovation, and explores how the local government’s behavior caused the lack of motivation and capability of indigenous innovation in China and its intrinsic mechanism under the background of China’s transition. Using the large sample of micro-enterprise data, we verify from an empirical point of view that the market segmentation in China’s provinces and regions is an important factor that inhibits the innovation and R & D activities of Chinese local enterprises. The results of the study fully show that the market segmentation in China limits the ability of Chinese local enterprises to realize their “demand-induced innovation” function through the domestic market demand space, which provides a good understanding of the dangers of market segmentation in China As well as the causes of the lack of motivation for independent innovation of Chinese local enterprises, provide theoretical and empirical evidence that are different from previous research conclusions but have important policy implications.
