On July 1st,the operational management of Iraq’s Rumaila project wasofficially transferred to Rumaila Field Operating Organization (ROO),a consortium led by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).CNPC,BP and Iraq’s South Oil Company held a ceremony at Basra July3rd for officially taking over the oilfield and the commencement of oilfieldoperations.
