本文认为,英语习语具有其他民族语言习语所没有的独有特征。英语习语的独有特征主要表现为习语在交际中使用的普遍性,习语在类型、功能、文化上的多样性以及在语义上的特殊性等方面。探讨英语习语的独有特征,有助于我们认识习语在英语教学中的重要性,并对学习者学好英语具有一定的指导作用。 This article argues that English idioms have unique characteristics that other national idioms do not have. The unique characteristics of English idioms are mainly manifested in the universality of idioms used in communication, idioms in terms of types, functions, cultural diversity and semantic specialties. Exploring the unique characteristics of English idioms helps us to understand the importance of idioms in English teaching and to guide learners in learning English well.
