做压杆稳定试验时,当试件承受的荷载将要达到临界力时,虽然荷载增加很慢,但挠度增加却很迅速。由于同学使用万能试验机的机会毕竟不多,对机器的操作也不很熟练,因此做此试验时,试件就很易被压坏而不能重复使用,这样既影响实验的正常进行,又增加了材料和加工的耗费。为此我们改用小型压杆稳定装置进行压杆稳定试验。多年实践证明,这种方法是可取的,它不仅避免了上述缺点,而且可不受实验室拥有的万能试验机台数的限制,投入较少经费而可开出很多组试验,从而增加了学生的动手机会。
