Preamble The actual average growth rate of the world economy in the 1960s was 4.9%, compared with 3.7% in the 1970s. From a light industrialized country perspective, the world average was 4.8% in the 1960s and 3.3% in the 1970s. If the two periods of time were divided into the first oil crisis (1960-73) and the first oil crisis (1973-82), the real average annual growth rate of world economy dropped from 5.0% to 2.9 %, While that of advanced industrial countries dropped from 4.9% to 2.1%, both of which dropped sharply. As for the U.S. economic growth rate that has a significant impact on the world economy, the average annual growth rate during the first oil crisis (1960-73) was 4.2%. After the first oil crisis (1973-83 ) Was 2.0%, down about half.
