神经胶质细胞是神经组织内除神经元外的另一大类细胞,它们参与神经元的活动,对神经元有极为密切的相互关系,但至今对其精确的功能尚未有更深入的了解。利用组织培养方法研究胶质细胞的形态和功能,比之用一般组织学方法优越,不仅因它能示范细胞胞体和突起的结构,而且更重要的是能更好地控制细胞及其液体环境,有利于探讨胶质细胞的生物学特性和功能。
Glial cells are another kind of neurons except neurons. They are involved in the activities of neurons and have very close relationship with neurons. So far, they have not got a deeper understanding of their exact functions. The use of tissue culture methods to study the morphology and function of glial cells is superior to that of conventional histology not only because of its ability to demonstrate the structure of the cell somatic and protuberant cells but, more importantly, to better control the cell and its liquid environment, It is helpful to explore the biological characteristics and functions of glial cells.
