Leonardo da Vinci firmly believes that the source of art lies in real life. He emphasizes his experience as “the daughter of the mother of science and art,” but as a “true teacher.” The reason is that inspiration does not come from the air but comes from the grasp of nature and laws of nature, Nature as a teacher, should find out its temper is familiar with the natural sciences. In addition, art should be idealized and typical, “artists and nature win over nature.” As a master of arts, Vinci has a special liking on painting and mentions it to the height of free art, claiming it is superior to any other art.
