为促进话剧、歌剧艺术的繁荣发展和更好地为工农兵服务、为社会主义服务,华北地区一千三百多名话剧、歌剧工作者举行的观摩演出会,二月二十五日在北京开幕。这次观摩演出会,将检阅华北地区近年来话剧、歌剧在反映社会主义革命和社会主义建设、塑造当代工农兵英雄人物方面所取得的成就,并总结和交流文艺工作者思想革命化以及创作、表演等方面的经验,使话剧、歌剧更有力地配合和推动当前社会主义革命和社会主义建设的新高潮。中共中央政治局候补委员、国务院副总理陆定一和中共中央宣传部副部长周扬、林默涵,国务院文教办公室副主任张盂旭,文化部副部长李琦,中国人民解放军总政治部文化部副部长陈亚丁和中共中央华北局书记处书记廖汉生、候补书记朱理治等出席了开幕式。
