By the end of 2010, China’s hydropower installed capacity has reached 213 GW, accounting for about 40% of the technically developable capacity. There is room for further development. The self-developed 700MW large-scale Francis turbine, represented by the Three Gorges Project, has reached the world advanced level. At present, 770MW Xiluodu and 800MW Xiangjiaba units are being manufactured and 1000MW units are under development and will be applied to Baihetan Hydropower Station. In order to achieve the goal of energy structure adjustment and energy conservation and emission reduction, the installed capacity of hydropower will have to increase substantially in 2030. In order to seize the opportunity of hydropower development, no
