Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is one of the most widely used tumor makers and it is applied for clinical diagnosis of colorectal pancreatic, gastric, and cervical carcinomas. [1] According to the capacity of antibody to recognize the corresponding antigen, the usual technique used for determination of tumor markers is immunoassay, such as chemiluminescence-, Raman spectroscopy-, electrochemistry- and surface plasmon resonance-based immunoassays. Among various immunoassay methods, electrochemical immunoassays in particular have attracted extensive interest due to its advantages such as high sensitivity, a relatively low detection limit, and rapid analysis.
