In recent years, there have been an increasing demand for rapid, high sensitive and selective methods of analysis to meet the great challenges of food safety that is critical to the human health. In response to the demands,we attempt to focus on the sample preparation which is the rate-determining step in the analysis of food samples.Microextraction technologies including solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and liquid-phase microextraction (LPME) which are developed to address the need for a reduction in solvent use, miniaturization and automation, have been widely applied on the sampling and uptake tracing of target analytes in complex food samples, such as edible oil, liquid milk, fish, cabbage and aloe in our works.
