Graphene has drawn a dramatically increasing attention as a new carbon-based material in a broad range of applications for its unique atom-thick 2D structure and remarkable physicochemical properties. We herein reported a method to reduce graphene oxide (GO) though photochemical reduction by employing Irgacure-907 as photosensitizer. The photo-assisted reaction of Irgacure-907 belongs to the photochemical Norrish Type-I reaction, based on less harmful reagents and light as major reagent in synthesis. The SEM and TEM observations show the folded and wrinkled rGO sheets in a large area, and three to five single layers at the edge of rGO sheets.
