Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have attracted considerable attention because of their exceptional material properties for practical applications. However, available synthesis methods up to now lead to only heterogeneous mixtures of semiconducting, semimetallic, and metallic electronic types. It is still a great challenge to develop simple yet elegant methods for separation of metallic and semiconducting SWNTs.On the other hand, aligning of CNTs was studied for lots of interesting applications. Some processes have been explored to control CNTs aligning, including post synthesis assembly approaches and in-situ growth approaches. However, it is still difficult on impeccable CNTs controllable aligning and precisely manipulating method in microfluidics.
