A Study on Rear-end Collision Warning Strategy Considering City Condition Tyipical Features

  Rear-end collision warning(RCW)is frequently triggered incorrectly in city condition,while missing alarm is also found in turning around condition.False alarm is caused by unruly driving behavior frequently seen in China according to statistical exper-iments,and alarm performance decays seriously(even missing alarm occurs)within a short period time after turning around is comple-ted.A strategy using host vehicle speed,steering angle and millimeter-wave radar signal of lane change decision system to identify host vehicles real-time running condition is proposed,and then RCW warning region is modified dynamically.False alarm rate is reduced significantly,and alarm performance is improved obviously after the strategy is applied,according to public road test and ground experi-ment results.
